Default Please help ignition Wiring problem L8 92 4x4 Cosworth

Hi I need some help from you wiring guys if possible please
j 92 4x4 sapphire msd 270 chip otherwise standard
I was driving along about a month or so ago and the car started to lose power then regained and eventually completely went, car stopped no ignition lights or fuel pump priming but the car still cranks over but obviously doesn’t fire
i thought ignition relay but replaced it and still the same
the only things that work on the car is interior lights, side lights, and stereo
I have recently found if i bridge the ignition relay i can start the car? And runs as normal but obviously i cant turn off with the key
i have checked all i can but im not very good with electrics and now i need someones help as Im completely out of ideas.
If anyone can make suggestions for me to try etc it be much appreciated,I can any questions to what i have tried
i have tried another original ford immobiliser relay box from up under drivers dash but still the same
Also checked 3 multiplugs on bulkhead and loom plug behind battery all seem ok
power from ignition switch but but seems to get lost somewhere

Aftermarket immobiliser issue potentially, the fact you mention bridging the relay means power is not reaching it and this would be the most likely cause.

Have you checked it is disarmed?

Check ignition switch continuity and move forward from there.

Hi Martin, thanks for replying,The led light for the original ford immobiliser is not on which i think means its disarmed?
i also have a scorpion alarm immobiliser which seems to works as i have to disarm that befor i can turn the key to start the car when bridged ?
the switch is getting 12v on all the wires from the switch and through its plug into the wiring
would that be rite? Im hopless with electrics and testing lol

Do you have 2x +12V at the relay?

So the ignition live is the supply to the relay itself, so you need to trace the wiring back.

From memory this may be something like a black and purple wire.

Before the issue did you used to have to disarm the immobilizer for there to be power at the ignition? I know you say it appears to be working, re the starter.

So ignition live would that be from the fuse box going into the drivers footwell? Black and yellow maybe?
theres a black/yellow and when i bridge that with the permanent live thats when everything works?
yes before anything happened, i had to press the button to disarm the scorpion immobiliser
Theres an led by the key that goes out and if not started in 20 secs it arms again
the scorpion fob also locks and unlocks the doors which is currently working
i cant seem to arm the original ford immobiliser though
it did flash on top of the dash but doesn’t do it now.Thats turning the key in the lock and holding etc

So it sounds like black/yellow is the output, i.e. what the permanent live is switched to when the relay closes.

I suspect (and I don't know without checking) the live from the ignition must power the relay, simply look at the colours of the wiring and look for an identical one at the ignition.

yes theres a thick black/yellow from the ignition and it seems it goes to a solder joint to wiring under the fuse box and thinner black/yellow wires come from there and feed to the fuse box
The wires from the ignition relay at the fuse box are black, Red , brown ,black/yellow

i forgot to mention i removed the cover from the original ford immobiliser relay from drivers side footwell/dash and if i bridge the two relays inside it gives ignition?
Is there a way of bypassing this box?
