How do i figure if my Cosworth was one off the last 200 built please green top engine electric sunroof etc

Colour coded tip on the rear spoiler

 

Should it be black or the same as the car all white

It should all be one colour, no black lip.
Same as mine in the pic.

If it has an electric sunroof as standard it will be one of the last facelift, which also has the spoiler tip in the body colour. Not sure how many were made with the last facelift though.

 

the green top engine was fitted to the late J reg cars and K reg.

 

The vin plate should have a build date which should tell you how close to the production end of the 4x4 Saffs it is.Got to be late 1993.

 

The last 200 sapph cossies also had a small extra red part at the bottom of the fuel gauge if I am correct.

 

And i think it should have the bulky 4 spoke type steering wheel

 

as mentioned, my novo red one had the red spoiler tip.

 

Does anyone actually have any evidence to prove that it was the last 200 with the colour coded spoiler lip? I’ve seen loads of late cars over the years with colour coded lips, I’ve owned one, my mates got one. And those cars were registered two months apart.

 

A cars build date and registration date can be months apart as can 2 identical cars built one after the other.

If a dealer has a car it all depends on if it was ordered for a customer or for stock. It could sit on the forecourt for months.

My Neuveo sapphire is a facelift, electric sunroof, aircon, sharktooths, no numbers on the fuel gauge, rev limit highlighted in red, 4 spoke steering wheel but No colour coded tip on spoiler

Mines a april 92 build and May registration but not one of the last.

I would think the last batch would be from July 92 through to July 93 and be on K or L plates.

with regards to evidence, i have the German sales book that states - Wagenfarbe Heckspoiler (body coloured boot spolier) and this picture.

 

wasn't that steering wheel supposed to the same as a transit van.

 

I think it was similar to the Granada but that had buttons in for radio & cruise control??

From memory the transit was a 3 spoke type.

i may be wrong but i seem to remember back in the day ford changing the parts on the last few to sell them on as they were in direct competition with the escort cosworth
