Yeah, I would not be happy with that, I am sure someone on here removed the lip at the closest point but don’t know if that’s dodgy, might be better to add a small spacer?
Are you sure you have the correct strut/knuckle combination? As I don't think it would normally be this close.
I know that if you use 2wd Cosworth struts with standard Sierra knuckles the lower spring platform is lower than it should be. Also on normal 2wd Sierra's there is less room than on a Cosworth.
The original wheels are ok, as had been the oz wheels. I'm thinking the wheels might be et35 not et38 as told but with the centre being moved to be face mounted its brought the barrel back the thickness of the centre.....
I have koni front struts with 17x7.5 et 35 OZ Cronos old school alloys with 215/40/17 tyres and 35mm Eibach lowered springs and my tyres are not close like yours. Something is'nt right and I think if you drove it like that over some of the pot holes and uneven roads we have it could be dangerous.Mine is a 2wd Saff.
Yes straight across, but I welded a little piece straight across and painted up so looked proper and wouldn't draw attention in a mot etc
Done the same on my 4x4 Sapphire. Cut, welded & painted. (excuse the crap quality pic, just managed to squeeze my phone in the gap to give you an idea.)
Looks good, just put 5mm shims on and done 20 odd mile on a mix of roads and had no catching, tyres are scuff free and the tape I put on the shock cup is in marked.......
think I'll do the same and cut a small part away......
I did wonder if the wheels had a different et...front & back and the seller didn't know??
but I'll deffo be doing something just to make sure of no catching...
