Are you sure you have the correct strut/knuckle combination? As I don't think it would normally be this close.

I know that if you use 2wd Cosworth struts with standard Sierra knuckles the lower spring platform is lower than it should be. Also on normal 2wd Sierra's there is less room than on a Cosworth.
