Default 1936 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup

Hi All
I'm not going mad putting millions of pics up for this project, but this is a taster of what we are working on
Cheers

Hi
I will say that the power plant is from a Lincoln (American prestige Ford) MK VIII. 4.6 V8, Quad Cam engine kicking around 260BHP. All aluminium block, the engines were also fitted to MG SVT and Ford Crown Victorias etc.
Our block is the all aluminium (light weight) version, full sequential injection with COP.
Standard 4R70W 4 speed auto 'transmission'.
I dont have all the panels back yet so cant show any near completed pics.
The pickup will be going to the shows eventually and be used as often as petrol permits .
Cheers

Hi
This is how we purchased it in 100% original 'Patina' look.
We want to keep it standard looking with original Ford steel, but just a more reliable / modern engine and safer feel with seatbelts and modern seats.
Cheers

These are some of the many 'work in progress' pics taken during the last few months.

Thank you for the encouragement, been a long time since we have been called kids lol.
The engine is very wide, wider than a big block Ford. It is yet to be seen if it clears the front wheel arches .
Cheers for looking.

My type of project. Wish I was younger always wanted to do something like this. I love these older vehicles.

Hi All
I'm sorry ive not updated this post since goodness knows when.
We have been plugging away constantly since we started to finally get it roadworthy about 3 weeks ago.
The brakes are a tad shocking at the moment so a bigger brake servo is winging its way from across the pond to us.
We took it to the first show in Doncaster on Sunday and hoping to get out a lot more often in it after it is back on the road again (brakes and steering issues).
This thing has been a major learning curve on quite a few fronts, but finding out that someone in the US has taken the time to disassemble the EEC IV / V to the point that with the help of a 'Moates QuarterHorse' card plugged into the J3 port on the ECU that you can fiddle with pretty much any setting you like . also i've learnt a 7" dual diaphragm isnt big enough for a 2 ton pickup.
Cheers

Great project! That engine looks a tight fit.

I was well happy when I got to go in a Crown Victoria cab in New York. The missus thought I was mental lol

I love seeing Fords in films and things on the telly, so i am with you on the honour of going in a Crown Vic.

I was adamant i wanted the lightest V8 with the most power (with fuel injection).
The quad cam 32 valve block is wider than the big block ford 7.2 litre lump, but weighs significantly less .
If i went for the 2 or 3 valve block i would not have had to cut into wings or bonnet - thus saving months of aggro. You only live once though
Cheers
