Default cold start valve

Hiya guys if my car was set up to run 14psi, with out touching the fueling how much more boost would the could start valve activated via a boost pressure switch compensate for ie will fuel for an extra 3 psi?

I know the logical answer is go get it set up but i am just trying to find out as much as i can about cold start valve.

thanks Paul.

it would better to have the fuel matched to 14psi other than having the cold start valve cutting in so early, its not the boost u run its all about the air going in matching the fuel!. an ajustment on the co2 allen key ajuster at a tuners will be a far better idea, and would cost less.

I already have my fueling set up for 14psi i dont want to have more fuel wasted all the time i want the fuel there for when i run more then 14psi like a 2 stage set up with cold start supplying more fuel for 2nd boost stage but if cold start only supplys 2 or 3 psi,s worth of boost/fuel then il limit to that my car has to remain kind of economical if i wantd to waste fuel all the time i would have stuck with carbd turbos as there soo much easier u just drill the jets out lol

Just lookd through my other post on cold start/fith injector and someone wrote it will only compensate for a couple of psi so il assume if mine works it will take me up to 16psi, what boost would you guys recomend i set the coldstart valve to kick in?

I have all the bits so i will get to work on this soon then once i set it to the boost i wont idealy 17-18psi take it to tuners who drive on the raod to make sure it isnt lean then jobs a gooden.

One thing i have noticed is that ppl that run highish boost say the fueling gets lean top end, i have a piper 285t2 cam so will be revving hi sometimes hopefully my set up i plan on running wont run lean at hi revs???

thanks Paul.

i run high boost on mine coz while rebuilding the lump i brought some low comp pistons and a grs, when the tuner increased my boost to 21psi on mine it ran lean top end, hence why i had the fuel pressure mod to correct it,

taking to to a tuner who tunes from road test info is a very good idea i had mine done this way.

one thing a liked about my fuel pressure mod is that i know i have the fuel, and didnt really like trusting a old ford cold start valve and more wiring to the control unit, i would save an extra 150 quid up and get a MF2 one with a proper cossie injector in your charge carrier, but its just advice on saving your engine...

also what intercooler do u have?, a pace will be on its limit at 18 psi, grs, pro alloy etc u have no problems.

yeah i would like the mf2 but then how much would that cost to set up???

My intercooler is my weak point at the mo as i have a crappy std size pace style one with ally caps on the end.

I will run a fmi before upping the boost i have an xr2 with rs turbo lump so things like intercoolers you cant find on ebay cheep unlike grs intercoolers and the like.

Chears Paul.
