Pictures, video & Photoshop ForumIf you want to show off your photoshop skills, share pics and videos of your car or other cars you've found, here's the place to go.
Are there green and blue containers there or all the same and it's a trick of the light? Great place to hide a valuable car if the monthly rate isn't too high.
Last Summer I parked up when out fishing next to a stunning Mk1 ST220 estate (sadly not in my GTI estate at the time). I got talking to the young owner who told me he had only had it a week, one previous owner, loads of history etc. He said how pleased he was that the body was so good. With thoughts of the hidden rust on my GTI still fresh in my mind I asked if it would be ok to check underneath the sills etc.
When my hand went through to the carpets in several places and I suggested that he's facing either scrapping it or a massive welding bill his face went whiter than an Essex girls stilettos.
I hope he got it fixed...super looking car with those weird curved spoke OEM rims and met gold paint.
I've always wanted one of these. Missed out on one local last month for ÂŁ350 that needed welding for the mot. Didn't have the ÂŁ350 at the time unfortunately
many a time I have gone to buy one and found heavy rust or I would have a st200 saloon now
I owned a cracking X plater hatch about 4 yrs ago, only done 70k, it was a beauty. Like you though I always fancied the saloon but finding
a good solid car is rare.
I owned saloon number 299/300. Bought it when it was only 6 months old and had 8000 miles on it, kept it for 18 months and sold it, regretted it ever since. Then a few years ago i bought another saloon, this was number 59/300, it had 95000 miles on it, still drove perfect. Used it for a few months and offered it for sale, a fella came from Devon to Yorkshire to buy it. They are still very sought after but as mentioned they suffer badly with rotten arches etc.

Surely it's not the Ł350 purchase price (or Ł2,350 for that matter) it's the insurance, tax (which you have to pay on day one) and other high running costs). Sadly, I'd still think twice if offered a good one for a quid as keeping it on the road, if you are not in the trade, will still add up.

Thanks. Lee.
