Last Summer I parked up when out fishing next to a stunning Mk1 ST220 estate (sadly not in my GTI estate at the time). I got talking to the young owner who told me he had only had it a week, one previous owner, loads of history etc. He said how pleased he was that the body was so good. With thoughts of the hidden rust on my GTI still fresh in my mind I asked if it would be ok to check underneath the sills etc.

When my hand went through to the carpets in several places and I suggested that he's facing either scrapping it or a massive welding bill his face went whiter than an Essex girls stilettos.

I hope he got it fixed...super looking car with those weird curved spoke OEM rims and met gold paint.
