Default Hydraulic clutch question

Can anyone who runs a hydro clutch with master and a slave give me some feedback please?

I'm looking to do the hydro conversion with the slave on the gearbox and I'm getting mixed reviews.

I've sat in a couple and worked the pedal and it feels like it has a 'step' at around 60% travel then goes hard

Thanks in advance

I have the Reyland Hydraulic kit on my 2wd. I got the slave cylinder bracket welded onto the bellhousing by Reylands. Getting the push rod length correct is vital to avoid either clutch slip or clutch drag. Mine was installed by Tremona garage in Southampton and it is a very tidy job. Nice and smooth with no problems. I have a Helix 6 paddle clutch and lightened flywheel as well. There is no comparison to how it works now compared to the old cable system and well worth doing.

i did mine myself it was an easy job but i had the car in bits to be fair and it was on a 4x4 so no welding

i used a gurling .700 master cylinder and a slave from a early bmw 318

mine feels realy nice. I have an alcon 6 paddle cluch and pressure plate so far its been fantastic not had a drama yet

dissmairs. You may find you have to adjust the length of the pushrod when you try it out as there doesnt seem to be a " standard " length. Nice neat job.

I fitted a hydraulic clutch set up on my saph and the pedal feels ok, still feels very heavy but then I have little strength in my left leg which was the point of converting to hydraulic.

Was the change to hydraulic worth it for me? Nope. Very little difference in pedal weight compared to the cable set up on my old white one. I wouldn't bother again myself personally.

I am suprised you are not that happy with your hydraulic clutch conversion. Before I had mine done on my 2wd my operation was hopeless. There was only about an inch of movement from it being engaged to dis-engaged, it was very heavy ( Alcon 6 paddle ) and clutch control in slow moving traffic was a nightmare.
Now it is much lighter, has plenty of movement in the pedal and feels completely different to how it used to be.I have the Helix 6 paddle now and for me it has been very worth while and I have nothing but praise for it.

I'm looking at doing the hydraulic clutch conversion on the 3dr. What is the general view of hydraulic clutch cylinder nose setup http://www.burtonpower.com/hydraulic...2wd-apc10.html

They look pretty neat, but do they work well?

Thanks

Mine works perfectly. The only down side I have heard people talk about with the centre push bearing is that if it leaks or shits itself, you have to pull the gearbox out to fix it.
