Default Zetec turbo

Guys in getting a 2.0 Zetec built for more boost, aiming for about 400ish bhp plus nitrous, what gearboxes and axles are you all using for this sort of power? Guessing I may have to go T5 with an atlas or 9"

I'm using a T5 gearbox and Volvo rear axle. An Atlas will do but it needs heavily (and costly) uprating or an 8-inch Ford axle is sutiable but they are getting very rare and the ratios aren't usually ideal for a four-cylinder turbo. A 9-inch is a bit overkill. You will need a dry sump at that kind of power by the way.

Sorry what car are you putting the engine in, Gearbox and axle choice will depend a lot on weight grip and tyres used,

my capri just runs a standard mt75 and 2.8 atlas and limo and 215/45/15 toyo proxies with about 290 bhp haven't broke anything yet

Why do zetec's need dry sumping above 400bhp thought it was revs that killed the oil pumps ??

No, nothing to do with revs, there have been plenty of 8000+rpm NA cars with no oil pump failures I'm told from Dunnell, the Zetec specialist.

Generally, much above 400bhp and they are a ticking time bomb seems to be the opinion.

It's going in my ford Anglia, I'm already running a supercharged 1800 Zetec but just need more power, I've heard it's a combo between revs and the extra force the boost is putting down on the crank?
