Depends, if you are comparing it by todays standards then it is nothing special, but look back at what was on the forecourt at the time then it was a bit special when you consider the price and performance along with the useability and reliability and running costs.

what do ford currently sell thats got 4wd and can do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds totally standard ? thats the time ggr tested a standard one at back in 1992.

the 2009> focus rs was tested by evo mag at 0-60 at 5.9 secs but that had 300hp.

a escort cosworth with 300hp would kill a std focus rs 0-60 so imo thats special enough and a escort cozzeh is probably worth more if its a good un

 

Escort cossies look mint imo.There isnt many cars out there that look as hard as an escos.

 

No I meant in terms of it was made to win the world rally championship which it never done! Don't get me wrong I love the Car but I think the Ford RS stuff since the early days is so over rated and a lot of it is never used in Motorsport

 

well lets see now......... toyota were cheating f*cking bastards who got thrown out of the world rally championship and delecour smashed up his mates ferrari f40 nackering his ankles up so thats a perfect few reasons why the car never won, i guarantee if nobody was cheating and mcrae was driving or delecour wasn't on crutches it would of won the wrc.

anyway the car won the european rally championship and more national rally championships around the world than even i can roll off and thats not even mentioning the 1993 german touring car championships it won outright and there were loads more touring car championships the escort won around the world,its just people seem to be oblivious to how good it actually was

 

Yes the very crash that gave Delecour to have one leg slightly shorter than the other.
The RAS-Sport car driven by Patrick Snijers won quite a bit as did the car that was in the middle east with the works car (his name i cant remember at the moment)
