Default Phase 2 Fiesta Zetec S

FORD FIESTA ZETEC S

2001 Phase 2 model which to some is more desirable and cheaper to tax than the Phase 1 models in case you did'nt know and most are higher spec too = meaning in the case of this one it has all the options unlike some others, Engine and suspension are perfect and not messed about with at all so its drives perfect in every way with no vibrations of knocks etc, I have owned this for the past year and have enjoyed driving it as it reminded me so much of a classic mini for its great handling, most of you that attend shows have seen it this year on the passionford stand at RS Central Show, Classic Ford & Ford Fair, prices on these cars are all over the place due to either poor spec and maintenance or rust or simply abused by previous owners so I have seen them sell for £500 up to £2500

1600cc zetec blacktop great on fuel and ultra reliable
1 years MOT
Taxed
Pristine interior (rear seats have headrests)
4 x Airbags
Uprated Focal audio speakers with no silly holes cut & alpine amplifier included
Legal privacy glass
Air Conditioning (Fully Working)
Electric Mirrors
Electric windows
Remote central deadlocking
Puma leather steering wheel
Puma brushed silver dashboard facia and heater panel
Sparco tailor made race pedals
Heated front and rear screens (Front is new with built in sunstrip)
Tinted headlamps
Legal tinted rear lights
16” Mondeo Si alloys in fantastic condition fitted with quality 205/45/16 tyres
Polybushed rear beam

Current mileage is approx 115k but this engine was rebuilt fully by middx rebore in 2010 after a cambelt failure and was given a 2 year warranty which was never needed as the engine has been brilliant and still drives and performs like a much newer car

Work carried out november 2012 was =
cambelt & clutch as matters of precaution and peace of mind
Clutch
Brakes all replaced front and rear
Fluids changed
Wishbones & uplinks and tracked

Fully serviced in April 2013

Bad points, hardly any apart from usual common signs of rear arch bubbling but not bad and a few stone chips/minor scratches here and there,

£1300 buys it or £1100 with 15" wheels fitted, may consider p/x but ford only mind

Located in Watford/Harrow area

will go live on ebay next week so pf gets a preview 1st

My phase 1 ZS didnt have aircon, i think thats the main perk.
You get a black dash and cards etc opposed to grey, heated front screen and A/C and some slightly better thought out electronics on the engine inlet so your less likely to get idle problems, not that they are a massive deal.

There are other touches but thats the main swing of the ph1/ph2 differences i think.

Car looks very good! GLWS.

Where abouts in the UK are you? By 15" wheels I'm guessing you mean the standard ones? Could well be interested in this if not a million miles away

Sorry mate its in Watford, as for the wheel the original zs ones buckle dead easy so I binned them but will locate something to put on if you not wanting the 16s as the ones fitted are sitting on £400 worth of rubber and the wheels are mint so if not wanted I'm happy to keep them

There were no reliability issues just with Phase 1's, it's a myth. The Blacktops had a slightly different main bearing design, that actually made them more sensitive to low oil.

Its a myth stemming from poor maintenance

They are all great little cars, more fun than you'd ever believe from the spec sheet

nail on head I think in all honesty as way too many owners of these cars neglect them and wonder why they go wrong , biggest plus point for the phase 2 is cheaper road tax as emissions are lower than phase 1s so you save £15 on 6 months tax in comparison

There is no definite cross-over date for phases, there's technically no defined 'phase' either as some were a mis-match of parts. Tax is done by the registered date. Generally a phase 1 will have a silvertop, and a phase 2 a blacktop.
