Default Focus rs mk1 gtx3071r

Hi peeps I'm new on here so first off hi!!!

I am going to be doing some upgrades to my focus rs mk1, I have done the norm bluefin, decat, gen2 Front mount. I am wanting to upgrade my turbo so I have a t3 equal length manifold with turbosmart ext waste gate, if I go for a gtx3071r will I need to get a remap before I can drive the car?? I am going to save up and get steel rods and pistons plus a jenvey plenum but wanted to fit the manifold and turbo first.

And help would be great!

you may be able to drive it off boost, but it wouldn't be great.
due to the turbo being so much bigger it will require different timing and fuelling throughout the whole rev/load range.

Sabre tuning will be your best friends
What sort of power are you after? As that is really quite a big turbo, especially in a FWD road car!

400- 450 can be achieved with a smaller turbo than that mate.
Sabre have done several at that sort of power (400) with a hybrid version of the standard turbo.
They are based near castle Combe race track. And are able to map the standard ecu.

I'd chat to them before spending out too much on fancy bits

Dont think you need a turbo so big for that power mate you would probably spoil the driveability. As said before sabre are the people to speak to and would be able to advise you what is best for the power you want. Do a search on the rsoc forum there is lots of threads about them and what there doing on there

There is various hybrids around but most can make 400-420 with the right suppourting mods i think. The gt2876 is quite popular aswell, quite a few options you can have really

all pipes are between 42-44 cm

and here is from 0-100 (in germany kilometers )
