Default what 300mm rear disc will fit on the rear

Hi, am looking to put a standard disc straight onto the back of my escort and use 4pot calipers. I've heard the st170 front discs will fit but I'll have to machine the hub for them to fit over.....and ideas? Cheers

I have st170 items on mine I just took some off the caliper an made me own brakets
cost me 40 quid all in

they fit straight on the hub its the carrier and caliper you need to take few mill off ,don't see point in machining the disc like most do as you have do it everytime you change them

What have you used to space the caliper from the bracket, looks like blue tube in the pic, obviously I take it it's a piece if metal tube painted blue? What length is the spacer? also what thickness is the st170 disc as apposed to the 4x4 rear disc where it mounts to the hub face, does it push the wheel out or require longer wheel studs ?

You sorted any measurements mate, also what did you use to space the caliper from the bracket (blue tube)?

FORD Focus
2.0L ST170
2003 On

Front
Protex Disc Brake Rotors
Quantity Supplied = 1 pair
DR2101
Vented

Diameter: 300
Overall Height: 43.5
Original Thickness: 24
Minimum Thickness: 22

Stud Holes: 4

They say 24mm thick did you have to do anything to the calipers to get them to fit? As i thought cosworth std rear disc,s are 20mm thick.

And make brackets to hold caliper in new position

Did you have to make longer brake lines? Also does the handbrake cable still fit ok and clip into the rear arm brackets like normal?

Have the calipers also been modified? Or do they still fit the thicker discs, even with new brake pads?

I think Coswurv is offering a kit over on the escortcosworth forum, using laser cut alloy brackets.

Not meaning to sound stupid so apologies if it is, but isn't the pad only touching like half of the disc?

Yes it does, but all 300mm set ups that use the original caliper are the same, unless you buy bells and rotars. Best way to stop any corrosion in the unswept area is to mask it up and dust over it with some matt lacquer.
