Default ST220/Focus RS alloys.

Does anyone know if an 18" ST220 alloy will fit a MK1 Focus RS? I know a lot of FRS owners will use an ST170 space saver as a spare but apparently this only fits the rear wheels as the front brakes are too large for the space saver to go over them. I don't like relying on the standard puncture repair kit because if the tyre suffers an impact a puncture kit aint going to be a lot of use.
Next question, will an 18" wheel and tyre fit in the spare wheel well?

Not to sure if one fits in the spare wheel well I just keep mine in the boot you would have to get the boot padding from a ghia for it to fit depth wise but ill try my spare in the well in the morn and let you know you can fit a st170 alloy over the standard brembos if that's any help to ya tho

If the 18inch wheel will go in the spare wheel well it will stick up so you will have a lump in the carpet off the wheel.

That's why you need the boot padding from a ghia

why not use the spacesaver?
if you get a puncture on the front, jack car up on that side remove rear wheel, put on front and then put the spacesaver on back.
i got a front puncture few weeks back and used the spacesaver

if an 18" mondeo fits in the spare wheel well is it not best to have a spare frs wheel instead?

This. Or get a proper FRS wheel for the spare.

I was just wondering if it was possible of minimising the possibility of having to change 2 wheels if i got a puncture on the front (rear alloy to front then space saver on rear).
Regarding your last sentence about the FRS spare wheel, this might sound a bit blond/thick but that did occur to me when i posted the thread up originally but i thought i might be able to pick up a cheap secondhand ST220 alloy easier and cheaper than an RS wheel.

with the frs chassis being so firm you only need to get the jack under it and it lifts both front and back.remove front wheel, remove rear wheel and put on front then put space saver on front mate,it takes about 3-4 mins extra and the spacesaver fits in the back nicely with the std foam padding
