if you get a puncture on the front,jack car up on that side remove rear wheel,put on front and then put the spacesaver on back.
i got a front puncture few weeks back and used the spacesaver



if an 18" mondeo fits in the spare wheel well is it not best to have a spare frs wheel instead?
