Default Cossie stinks of fuel and oil inside the car in traffic, anything I can do?

Ok, first up the car has braided fuel lines (non-PTFE) so I imagine there will always be some kind of smell I will get from the car, even when it's been sitting in a locked garage the vapours build up and it stinks when I open the door.

However, the last week or so I have been using the car as a daily, and when i'm sitting in traffic, or especially when I've given it some stick, it bloody stinks of oil. The other night I went out for a drive and could smell it on my clothes after I came into the house.

Normally in ok weather I can get away with closing all the vents and it's perfectly fine, but at this time of year I have to have them open because it's either freezing cold or the windows steam up. Now I've had the car for years and been in dozens of cossies, and they all have that similar smell, but mine is alot worse.

Do you have an oil breather pipe that goes under the car from the catch tank?? Sometimes I have the same smell when givin it the beans, and oil and vapour squirt out.

-It's got two fire extinguishers in it already, but pretty much any cossie I've seen go on fire has been because of dodgy jubilee clips onto the regulator.

-Smit, will check that, excellent call there mate, i think i have them though but will have a look.

-It has a proper breather on it with catch tank, no hoses hanging about under the car pissing oil out all over the place, I hate seeing cars with that setup but no harm in it i guess, if it's not next to a wheel or the exhaust i suppose.

I suggest you stop wasting anymore money on the never ending money pit cos it will never end

And get an extra fire extinguisher cos 2 might not be enough

Its not something silly like you have spilt oil on the engine when filling? Mine smells of fuel and that kind of ford smell but not in the cab. Only time I smell it is if I come u to a stop sign with the window open and sometimes I can smell the oil/fuel smell if she is cold...

I guess your running big power?
