Well it's a toyota yaris 1.3 vvti 5 door in black
What I've done so far.........
Oil and filter change using castrol oil
New drop links
New discs and pads
Partially debadged to clean up the rear
Front areo wipers
Some bluer/whiter bulbs
Painted the horn and bonnet catch
And spent a fortune on car cleaning kit as I'm really into detailing, got autoglym shampoo, tar remover, paint restorer, polish, tyre blackener and glass cleaner. Now it's time to learn to us them!!
Want the stuff to blacken the rubber parts and wax
Stuff to do (in no particular order)
New air filter k&n etc
Go round it again with the tar remover - DONE
New wheel as I've kerbed the old one badly!
Cleaner plates stuck not bolted on
A black grill - DONE
Maybe new headlights but I've heard you can get headlight restorer to get rid of the cloudy look???
Polish the roof (ran out of time) and inside of doors - DONE
Clean under the bonnet - STARTED
Paint the calipers and drums, silver and black respectively - DONE
Repaint the steels with winter tyres - DONE
Buy a roof rack to put the bike on
Better seat covers - snap on etc - DONE
And that's about it for now

Got a bloody flat this morning! 2 nails

Chucked a winter wheel on, will get it repaired tomorrow, gave me the chance to give the wheel a good clean though
Read about wheel wax, any recommendations? They are powder coated........

Sounds good, but we need picks!!! Whats your budget for wax? Poorboys nattys paste blue is pretty good they tell me, reasonably priced too, tbh as long as you go with the well known companies (dodo juice, poorboys, swiisvax, meguiars, autoglym), I can't see how you can go wrong with a wax.
Well I work at halfords and it's 3 for 2 on car cleaning minus discount
Is it worth claying if you can't machine polish after? Heard mixed reviews
Currently on the iPad and pics are on the computer so unfortunately has to wait, nothing speacial but it's mine!!!!!

im with you on that horrible rattly smelly little things second only to vauxhall in their inability to make a timing chain last more than 5 minutes!
Seems really reliable, only had service bits, drop links and the air con regassed.
Looking at what car to get next, thinking a 1.4 focus as eventually I want a focus rs mk1 and could get wheels, brakes, headlights other ghia/st bits to save for the rs. Or a mk4/5 fiesta 1.25/4 as it'll be quicker with a few puma parts on to go faster
Focuses look cooler though (sometimes)
coil overs, mondeo steels/zetec wheels or 18" comp th/monte style etc. Dark colour. Simple and means I've got the perfect car to move onto a rs with

I left working on fiat/alfa to go and work on toyota cause at the time i thought toyotas never went wrong. How wrong was i.
Headlight bulbs on the avensis used to come loose and melt through the silver part of the headlight lol.
Really wanted to buy some mudflap for this, finally got a set but they won't fit
Got my winter wheels on - steels with conti winter contacts - really good grip in the snow and ice.
So I'm still on the hunt for front and rear mud flaps, I want proper fitted ones not rally slag ones though!
Its done about 6/7k so I'm guna service it again once the weather picks up a bit.
It's also needs some front wipers I think, keep leaving tiny bits on certain parts of thescreen, want them a bit longer too
Think I my create some rally style washers (tube along the wipers with holes in) and big rally flaps, just for shits and giggles through winter, but more likely won't
Saving up with a hope to pay the insurance off in full next year and if possible buy something ford
Current thinking list more likely next year but maybe this with a bit of luck!! Whatever it is I will do track days in, they look really good fun
Ka - would have to be modded - rally style
Mk5 fiesta zetec s - could manage for this to be standard
Mk1 facelift focus 1.4/diesel - could manage for this to be standard to
Mk2 fiesta xr2 - love these so much
Mk3 escort xr3 - slammed on spaced out clover leafs, or data post wheels if I ever got the money
Sierra - 1.6 or upwards engine size - siiiddddeeeeways
little ade style thing
Pretty realistic list for 2nd cars either after 1 or 2 years, the first 3 I could possibly insure this coming year if I can save enough, the 2nd set are a lot less likely but maybe realistic after another year

It's a start and no doubt good for building up some no claims.
Zippy has something to say about the Yaris in this video at about 2min 58secs!!

^^ yes I'd love a go but I have a tracker on the car so can't go doing track days or rallying
I've seen a lot of zetec s' on here being done for this road rallying but can't really find any info on what happens or classes or anything
Although I'm shite at searching
Any links? Next year it's definitely something I want to get into, really feeling a ka, cheap, on paper slower than the yaris (15bhp down I believe) but that doesn't bother me if it's going to be used hard, fair few tuning bits for the 1.3 and plenty of engine conversions if I stuck with the car. Plus it would by MY car not a car I am going to have to give back

Personal id get a mk1 2.0 focus as there cheaper to buy more powerfull take to mods much better and cheaper to insure, road rallys really anit rallying and nor is it racing its a test of beening able to drive to checkpoints precisely on time and beening early or late means you lose points so you could do it in your current car and it doesnt matter what size engine you have as you can't break the speed limits any way since its all held on public roads.
As for links i cant help as i dont do them as i like speed so i stick to the tracks

On a much smaller scale than road rallys but unlike road rallys the point is to the the set course as fast as you can and doing things like hand brake turns and reversing at some points without any speed limits and no msa lisneces ect, Or you can do sprints or hillclimbs.
Theres loads of motorsports you can do quite cheap mate, Best thing to do is pop along to you local tuning garage and ask them whats beening done in your area and where it is thay'll happyly tell you where as thay know you'll go back to them for work on your car ect....

Here to show you the regs for it (from the one i have coming up)
Introduction
A gymkhana is a clubmans event for club members (see para 4.1) meaning no competition licence is needed, just a club membership card.
The event is run on a certificate of exemption from the requirements of the MSA Competitors and Officials Yearbook (blue book) and are defined simply as an event held on private land where there is a balance of driving and skill tests. Any timed tests will be timed to an accuracy of within five seconds.
The gymkhanas organised by Rally Stage Team Motor Club will be a ‘fun’ event but will also have a competitive side. The tests will be driving skill tests – essentially scaled down versions of the type of tests run on historic and endurance rallies – balanced by the need for accurate navigation and tests of skill. All vehicles will be subject to scrutineering to a safety standard, roll cages etc do not have to be MSA approval – this also applies to any other item fitted to the vehicle.
The overall results are calculated by summing penalties from each type of test, meaning that it is not always the driver with best tyres or the most power who wins the event.
Technical regulations are always complex and section 7 of these regulations deals in detail with
requirements but the following summarises the cars allowed to compete:
Gymkhanas are open only to standard car and road rally cars and stage prepared cars. No jeeps or quads
Petrol-engined turbo standard cars are permitted, also turbo-diesels and four-wheel drives cars included.
Tyres must be road legal and not moulded slicks; knobblies are now permitted (new from July 2011).

That really does!! Rules seem pretty easy going to
High climbs I love the look of.
Like I say though this car has got to be passed on to my sister so need to get myself another car before I can start looking at these things unfortunately, have 5 months to save up if I'm going to go for it this year
Mk4 1.25 fiesta is looking a good challenger, just for how many parts fit them, something like -
Puma springs and dampers, cosworth brakes, mondeo 15" steels, possibly port and polish the inlet/head (dad and my boss have both done this so I'm not just going in blind) then it's a case of seat time/looking for events to enjoy the car on - that should be do able for 1k and insurance for about 1.5k
We shall see

For a Ł1,000 you can fully replace the suspension with new fixed uprated items (i went for spax) and polybush setup and sturt braces, 300mm front brakes, full 1.7 puma engine conversion. Also i wouldnt waste your time or money with a port and polish as all it will do is add 0bhp and leave your wallet emput, 9x out of 10 all thay do is quickly open the ports out little bit and clean them so thay look good, Get the head ported a 3 way valve angle and skimmed and it will cost less than a port and polish and give the best gains you can get without changing the valves.
