Default pf09 in l6 ecu

Just tested my 2wd tps and it's knackered, I know the pf09 will fit but will it work correctly, also who still sells these new?

I thought the 09 was for L8 etc and L6 ran 01

I'd try GGR, Matt Lewis, Woodford garage, Burton as someone must have one

The one on the car now is an 01, but these are not avaiable new anymore. The reason I ask why it will work properly is that some threads on here say it will and some say it won't. If it works ok I'd rather buy a new 09 than take a chance on a second hand 01.

a pfo9 will not work on an l6
its works the opposite way round to a pfo1
a pfo9 is 0-5v
a pfo1 is 5v-0
It is rumoured that I may know a little bit about weber ecu's and cosworths
they don't make the pf09 anymore

Pf09 does work with l6 management, pf01 doesn't.

Pf01 are used on earlier 3door cossies, which didn't run l6.

Getting confused now, mine is a pf01 with l6 ecu. Just to clarify, I cannot use the pf09 and will have to find a good second hand pf01

oh dear
do you have idle speed control issues
thats the first most obvious issue
the other issues are far worse
you sure it is a pfo9 and l6 before we get to in deep in technical discussion

a pfol starts open circuit at throttle closed initial trottle open is then 5v progressing down to 0 v at full throttle this is what the l1 an l6 need to see
apfo9 starts at 0.2 v and progresses upto 5v at full throttle
the tps start position is critical on the l8 the l8 needs to see 3 to 5 degrees of throttle angle at throttle closed
the l1 and l6 needs to see open circuit at throttle closed

I'll take it for Ł30 if you can post next day delivery. How are sales done on here? Do you need to create a sale thread? PM me payment details etc.

Very useful thread - thanks guys... think you may have saved my engine !!
I only read this out of interest, but my 4x4 has a red TPS which looks to be the 01..... and it needs the 09???

Will put a probe on pin 17 I think to check if the wires have been switched.

Wanted.... working PF09 lol!!

PF09 does NOT work with L1/L6 it may well work to a degree but it won't run properly.

There were avaliable in both colours, it's marked on the TPS, if in any doubt just check the output, although if it were wrong you would notice it as it would run bad.

the black pf09 is an improvement over the earlier red pfo9 and was standard oe fitment on all BT p8 escort cosworth and it was important that they have them on the p8 as it is speed pressure throttle angle as opposed to speed density for the l1 and l6

Fantastic... mine is a red PF09

interested me to test it today though....results wernt good though so I thought id confirm with you guys.

I have put a probe on the pin 1 (ground) and pin 17 and with throttle open and closed, the results were both 0V
So... ive either got a chuffed TPS.... or im testing it incorrectly.

TO test, I have taken the multiplug from the ECU and tested probed the pins 1 and 17 according to the techical diagram I have.
Would this be the correct way??

Looks like a bit of a pain to change too... perhaps best to move the throttle body completely??

lol..... yup, ignition on
Probe was monitoring constantly from no throttle to full.

Was this the correct method to check?

stick the probes in pin 11 and 30 and note the result meter set to 20volts DC
then pin 11 and 17 and check voltage readings at min throttle ,quarter throttle half throttle and full throttle
ignition on
