Get onto ya local council mate and see if they have any available to rent this would be the cheapest option, private companies do let lock ups but it will be more expensive then renting one off the council

I had a private rented lock up and it cost around a grand a year, I currently have a council garage and it cost about Ł600 a year, round about a nifty quid a month

also try local farmers etc or even some garages as they sometimes have spare work spaces/rooms etc. It took me 8 months to find mine in the north east, i've ended up on a farm. Just keep asking about.

hi mate, i looked around my local area for months and drew a blank. managed to get an unused workshop 70' by 30' with a spray booth and it only costs me 10 days work a year. electric / water included. a local businessman running a garden centre had no need of it so that is the deal we came to. i pay a mate of mine Ł100 a day when there is work to do so Ł1000 per year. the owner pays my mate if more than 10 days needed. result. keep looking and you will find somewhere, but do as i did and don't just keep looking in the usual places.

what? that makes no sense to me, you pay Ł100 a day, but if you use it more than 10 days a year the owner pays your mate???

i spent ages looking for somewhere, but the best i got a deal of was Ł500 a month for a useable space, so i settled with moving house and working out on the driveway from the single garage

to clarify my point, i have the workshop all year round. the owner asks for 10 days labour in return. usualy general maintainance around his property. that's it, 10 days labour in return for full time occupation of workshop. i pay someone else to do the 10 days @ Ł100 / day so workshop only costs me Ł1000 / year all bills paid. if owner wants more than 10 days labour he pays my mate.

I've had my lockup for about 10 years now and it's 50 a quarter! Was 40 a quarter up until 2 years ago! Can't believe people charge 50 a month
