tubular manifolds are all good and well if you can get one that doesnt crack, best material to have one made from is inconel 625,thats what f1 exhaust are made from, normal stainless steel tends to crack under the high heat exchange, you will pay big bucks to have one made in inconel, imo stick with the 2wd for now, should do just fine

Wonder why it improves housepower, better to improve horsepower.

It will probably perform worse, and it will definitely be less reliable.

Flanges will probably already be warped lol

I know exactly where that will crack . Its similar in layout to one i used a few years back but mine cost 5 times that. It required welding every few months & it was a dead loss really. Inconel may be expensive but it works even my huge Turbo not cracking it after several years of abuse. its expensive at Ł3500 as always you get what you pay for.
Do you need one at that level.

it might be worse than the 2wd one ,the flanges are perfectly flat the welding is very good for what i won it for i got to try it .The problem i got is going over to group A chassis engine mounts i got about 5mm clearance which might melt the poly mounts & im married so am not aloud to spend Ł1000 on a custom manifold unless this option fails .

where do you think it will crack then Rod? I know you get what you pay for ,but some one has to try these things as no one can say i had one they are crap .i know they are not a patch on a primary designs one but as you said they are very expensive ,but this could be a cheap option for upto 600hp .

Doesnt look that bad really. Probably wont be any better than a 4x4 cast item, but still worth a shot.

Only issue might be the weight of the turbo hanging on it. Tubular manifolds dont hold the weight well and is one reason for breakages.

Also the resonance that crack them, Uncle Tony said to me that Ford changed the thickness of the flanges on the 2wd cast manifold from 8mm (early 3dr) to 10mm (later 3dr and saph) due to the resonance and breakages.
Tubular manifolds do look cool though.

yes ideally they should be all the same length but its similar style to the 4x4 manifold so should not be that bad .

worth a shot at that price, at worst at least you will be able to let others know how it performs, good luck

I used an XS power nissan 200sx manifold on my zetec turbo, i cut the flange off and had a zetec one welded on.

you deffo need to brace them well, as well as the top id seriously consider fabricating a brace to hold the turbo from underneath aswell.

mine was absolutly fine for the 200 miles that it was in the car before the pikey cunts wrote it off.

it made 397bhp/386lbft so done the job for what i wanted.

admittedly the welding on the inside wasnt great, but it done the job and took a T4 lol
