Escort rs turbo s2 tappets ??
Ok as i can remember my old s2 many years ago it was quiet tappy but my mates was rebuilt with solid lifters is that all i need to get rid of the cvh tap lol tbh i havent picked the car up yet so i dont know what its ging to be like just pre empting they will need doing
to be fair as long as there not knackered they should be too loud ive never really had a issue with any of mine.
Also solid ones can be a pain to set and they need to be checked after a while to make sure there still where they should be. If done wrong you will just end up snapping them.
Pros and cons for both really but i would only use solid ones if i had a mental spec engine.
Just my 2p

I used to change the cam and the tappets every 10k in my old ones. They used to wear out like mad. Especially the piper 285T2. I think they were made of chocolate
If I remember right, there really isn't a way to get rid of the tappety sound. Except swap for a zetec

If the tappets are worn typically so is the cam, you can put new tappets on an old cam and it will quieten everything down but it's only ever a short term fix and the noise will return.
funny you say that was it just the tappets that wore out quick with these cams ? , as mine is meant to be a few hundred miles old and sounds sh1te so was thinking of dropping some new lifters in with a OE cam

The CVH are "Cam Very Hungry" haha.
So that would explain the cam wear but as said provided you don't neglect oil changes you shoulden't really have a problem.
The usual problem is when the tiny oil hole gets clogged on them and blocks them You can try some "Wynns hydralic lifter lube" which may help you.
