I used to change the cam and the tappets every 10k in my old ones. They used to wear out like mad. Especially the piper 285T2. I think they were made of chocolate
If I remember right, there really isn't a way to get rid of the tappety sound. Except swap for a zetec
funny you say that was it just the tappets that wore out quick with these cams ? , as mine is meant to be a few hundred miles old and sounds sh1te so was thinking of dropping some new lifters in with a OE cam
