Default Thundersaloon Whats it worth?

Might be swapping my V8 3dr for a thundersaloon just curious on what it would be worth? The last time he raced it he said it formed a top end chatter and he hasnt used it since. It still runs but it will need stripped to find out what and where the chatter is coming from.

Whats it worth as a rolling shell and how much with the engine fixed as a full car

Is your V8 3 door black? FFF plate? It's nice! Seen it at Knockhill last year. Think you were going to deal my old Nova for it.

It is indeed mate!

went up to see the nova and it was looking a bit poorly. too much oil in it,play in the turbo, fans werent wired up etc. would have been a risk. the boy had clearly not given a fuck about it and by the looks of it hadnt been to bed and had been up all night drinking as well. I was gutted as I really wanted go bring it back down the road. I had a long chat with Fraggle about it before I went up and was looking forward to getting it out on track.

But on the way down from Aberdeen we nipped into see Fred Wood and he was all over my sierra, he has the Thundersaloon tucked up in the corner of his garage and we had come to a agreement on it but im not sure if im doing the right thing as I promised myself i'd see the Sierra out and drop a RB26 DETT in it and hopefully get it featured in a mag but the amount i'd plough into that could get the YB in the Thundersaloon a rebuild and it would be a monster out on track.

Yeah it still needs a fair bit of work to finish. All the hard work is done though. A few weekends spent on it and it would be there though.

The turbo shouldn't have play in it, it was a brandnew T4, has done zero miles and hasn't even seen boost.

He's still got it, he'll never finish it though so will be back up forsale.

The dipstick needs changed as it's broken at the bottom. It was only there to fill the hole. The oil should have been fine, it's never been driven since I changed it and it was topped up to the max and I used my mates escos one to check the level.

Sounds like Dale lol

Im trying to work out what I would get back for the Thundersaloon fixed or as a rolling shell and take it from there.

The fabrication work on the van is quality hats off to you for that and I have had second thoughts about it as I know it wouldnt take much to finish it. The tailgate was all smashed in and the van looked like it had been in and out his garage a few times as the concrete was destroyed off the exhaust bottoming out,and the way he come across Just made me think he had prob been out blasting it about the streets without the fans wired in and all the other factors it just didnt seem right.

If he had even pumped the tires up and stuck the doors and tailgate on it before i turned up i'd had probably come home with it, not really keen on driving 145 miles with a trailer and car to have the door answered by a bleary eye boy wi a can of lager in his hand either

I really like yours! I didn't do the fabrication, it was done by the guy before me. It was done well though.

The tailgate fell off when they were towing it from mines to his, it was only placed on. It really needs a new one as it's bashed to bits. Not a big deal though.

You should have taken it, he's never driven it. It's only been out the garage a few times.

It's a much better spec than what he had advertised. It's low comp, BD cams, T4, plated diffs, paddle clutch, AVO's, twin fuel pumps..... I've got the full spec written down somewhere. It's got ALOT of good bits on it.

I know what you mean, a little prep would have seen it looking good. All the doors etc on, washed with tyres pumped up and it would have been alot better for you. If you don't know the car it would have been a hard one though. Best to meet him during the week lol, there all party animals they live for the weekends.

I would consider it again but ive just spent £1200 on the 500 front bumper and lower boot spoiler etc? dunno if he'd be interested in giving me the RL7's and some cash my way. I dont have his number or nothing anymore to get in touch with him.

If you could find the spec on it that would be cool

Fred has had that car for sale for years, I'd be wary if I were you.
What do you value your 3dr at?

I'm keeping my car now, my mate befriended Fred on Facebook and he has loads of pics of my car "for sale"

We hadn't even come to an agreement on the deal and he seemed to tell me a different story everytime I spoke to him so im gonna put a new engine in mine
