Default Insurance Renewal

I had my renewal through from HIC today. Now, I know they have had some problems with a big claim have they not? But come on, I have been a customer for the past two years at least now....I was suprised to see that now another year older and another years ncb my premium was wait for it.........................

£5 less than last year!

Wft are they playing at, do they wan't to keep existing customers or what? So, I am shopping around. I must say with a few quick "online" quotes they can't be beaten, my renewal is just over £400. I am waiting to see what Greenlight can do....we'll see. I just thought £5 was a bit of a piss take considering it dropped about £150 the previous year

Anyway....rant over

The amoun't don't really bother me, it is a good price I mean I'm only 22 with 3yrs NCB and have an SP30.

I wan't to gt an agreed value this year though and maybe go fully comp which wuld be handy so's I can drive other car's also....

OK, since been phoning around, all could not even get anywhere close

Best quote I got was comprehensive with Adrian Flux, £708.00

I phoned HIC tonight, after 30 mins of waiting.,... I got through!

Anyway, I wanted to make a few changes to my policy, I wanted to lower my limited milage and also get an agreed value as well as see about going comp.

Basically, he quoted me about £20 less then my renewal with agreed valuation added He said, well its what the computer says so it's ok! lol

So thats cool, with that also quoted comprehensive, puts the excess up a bit, and also quotation came out at just over £750. thats with 4K agreed value too. so TBH, its not much more than adrian flux and they dont do agreed valuation like HIC so cant go with them.

I have not renewed yet, he is sending me the new paperwork through and i'll see what I think with it all in black and white.

I don't know if I should leave it another year third party F&T with the agreed value or go comp.... hmmmm.....

Got my renewal from HIC aswell the other day, I paid £457 last year for the stage 3 cossie, and this year they want £507

Which is really weird as I told them in September that I had sold the cossie and since then they have re-insured it and paid out on it for the new owner

As above mate, there was that big claim in for that cossie driver a while back i believe, seemed to have affected most ppl

Ive found HIC to be v good. Renewal £100 less than last year, so only paying £430 on my S2 now, with the added ability to drive other cars 3rd party, you dont get that with many 3rd party policies

HIC
