Licence Endorsements
I know this has probably been asked 100 times over, but for some reason google is and will only return results in yank which is of no use and i keep getting page cannot be displayed when i use the search feature on here.
Ive got a IN10 i think it is, driving without proper insurance on my licence (6 points) and a TT99 for a previous disqualification, how long do these stay on for? Anybody know for exact, because i get a different answer on every site i went on the other day
edit
IN10 i got on 11/07/2010
TT99 was for disqualification under totting up procedure, i got convicted 17/04/2009 and banned for 6 months got my licence back 17/10/2009

it used to be 4 years from date of conviction for both insurance and a ban, notification to the insurer is 5 years from date of conviction.not sure if it still is the case though because im a good boy now.

That's a serious driving history Fuzzball. I assume your insurance has been a little pricey over the years?!

Cheers,

DVLA's website used to be reasonably good for answering these sorts of questions but it's all amalgamated into a single government website that then links to the information that used to be on the 'old' government websites.
Points are active for 3 years (so count towards totting up), you can apply to have them removed from your licence (at cost) after 4 years and you have to declare them to your insurance (generally - it's due to the rehabilitation of offenders act) for 5 years.
Fuzzy - if I've understood your post right you've spent 20 years of your life banned from driving???

I imagine some of it is concurrent as hes mentioned driving while banned so i suspect some of the bans were extended from 1 to 2 years etc so not adding up to 20 years continous.
