If you get caught towing a trailer you will be in all sorts of trouble as you dont have a license, you have to pass only a practical test as a theory is not needed, this will then give you B+E on your licence

to book the test you phone the DSA 0870 010 1372

or http://www.dsa.gov.uk/tests/online_booking_1.asp

forgot the price

you dont have to do a lesson BUT it will be exactly like a driving test, so brush up!!

If you have any problems give me a pm and ill tell the requirements to pass the test.

any extra information you need on towing trailer and phone DVLA and quote reference form INF30, its free and should answer most of your questions .

yeh if you get your C+E you can drive just about anything ( not PCV). you will have to do it in order though C first then C+E.

they will be changing the law soon though so you will have to hold your C license for 2 years before taking your C+E test so keep it in mind if thats what you want to do.

good luck matey

Just been looking at my licence (passed in 1981 so long before all the restrictiuons and changes) but it says I can couple a trailer up to 750KG OR any single axle trailer - so does that mean the twin-axle one I've been borrowing is OK?

No idea what weight it is, but the owner puts a ramp on the front for the Elise, and the Ferrari 360 goes on behind, so it is a big one.

On the old style license you can drive anything up to 7500kg gvw and if you have a trailer connected this can make up a maximum train weight of 8250kg........dont think there is a restriction on single or twin wheel.........
