Default MS Injectors...

This is something i've been wondering for a while...
OFAC stage 2 - 195bhp, Uses "701" beige injectors that flow 230cc/min
MS running around 200-230bhp people use Deka 630cc injectors, why the extra 400cc's for not much extra bhp...?
Is the answer in the MS itself or that the "701"s aren't really upto the task of 200bhp...?

Basically im planning on going to MS soon with a standard engine, bar a cam aswell as a 48/55 T3, fmic and aiming for 200-210ish bhp with around 220lbsft... What injectors would i need with MS?

701's are not really up to the job of 200bhp+ from what Stu @ MSD has said, I ran VXR 480cc ones to start with but they topped out at around 230bhp so upgraded to Deka IV's as I wanted to run more power.
Plus they are brand new, cheap and have a much better spray pattern

As above, im not running them yet but will be soon, if your thinking of new injectors you may as well give your self some head room for future upgrades (you know you get bored of 200 bhp Roger )

basically injector and ECU design have come on, so it's now not a problem controlling big injectors.

So i can run around 200bhp with the deka's? Just with less duty cycle right?
Maybe the vxr's would be a good shout, as i won't get anywhere near 230bhp.

Thats right mate, but with your stage 3 T3 you can make an easy 250bhp so I would go with the Deka's.

250bhp? You think... Thats more than i'd planned! Altho im 100% stock on engine internals, i might slip a cam in her one day tho.

If your engine is 100% stock then I wouldnt want to push more than 230-240bhp through it, the rods are your weak point.
Also if it's never been rebuilt then you will be down on compression (ring wear) and the head will not be breathing as well as when new (cam/lifter wear) so you may not make 250bhp but it wont be far off! With a good FMIC and mapping of course!

Wheres the best place to get the deka's or the vxr injectors?
I would like to see around 230bhp from it eventually i guess, once ive got a cam and maybe had the head ported etc. But im not really chasing numbers, just want to get a decent set-up with room for future improvement!

Astra VXR, 480cc/min @ 3 Bar, good for just about 230bhp in a RST.

Not if you tick the box to have them sent as a gift no! Otherwise I think it was about £50, Sean (xr2wishy) on here bought some and didnt notice the box and got stung.

Any advantage of running the deka's as opposed to the vxr's at 200bhp...? Just more scope for a power increase?

More scope for future power hikes, and the more people running the same type of injector means that more base maps can be shared etc.
