Retro fitting front fogs to a mk2? purple wire????
I have a early mk2, build date september 1996 1.8 petrol rhd lx estate. i fitted front fogs and the switch, front fogs working fine. then last week it was foggy and after about five minutes with both front and rear foglights on it blew the 20amp fuse. replaced the fuse and then after about 30 seconds with just the front fogs on it blew the fuse.
Did a bit of research on the net and found all about the "purple wire" behind the light switch that needs to be reconfigured. Only i can't find it. I've taken the lower pannel off the dash and still can't see anything.
i've followed the loom up to the heated front screen switch, all the way down to where it goes behind the footwell trim. and upto the back of the cluster everywhere, it's no where in sight.
the only plug i've found is directly infront of the alarm module clipped to the door post area, this is a blue plug of about 15 terminals, which has a looped cable plugged into it.
do all mk2's have this purple wire?
