but this will be my first car under my name

perfect for a girl hey... hehe.... thats lucky then. the first one is more expensive to insure as its a 1.4 16v one plus its in liverpool... so im thinking of the second one...

I know a couple of peaple with them and they have no complaint's.
The most common problem ive seen with them is the rear 1/4 panel
at the bottom front corner's of the rear window's tend to crack! which
is within the seat belt mounting point's. The only other area ive seen them rust
is the driver's side front chassis also common but not a major problem
to deal with. Apart from that i dont think a lot else apart from wear or tear
goes wrong with them.
(the bit about the rear 1/4 panel's only affect's the 3dr corsa's)

1995 'M-Reg' Vauxhall Corsa SRI 1.4 16v

Standard apart from uprated suspension, uprated air filter and a top of the range 'JVC' cd/mp3 player with 'Sony' and 'Pioneer' speakers

Beautiful car to to drive, I know the previous two owners of the car and it has never missed a beat!

It is also very cheap to insure and very cheap to run.

The car is in beautiful condition inside and out with only a small dent on the drivers door, which can be easily and cheaply fixed.

Above all the car is great fun to drive and is only being sold due to university fees!

Any test on the car is welcome
Translation, cheap to run = not maintained properly, uprated air filter / great fun to drive = thrashed within an inch of it's life. Sorry but it's a lovely little car, and if you are lucky it won't go wrong within a couple of weeks.

Like I say, might last forever, but I'd get something that has a likelihood of having been serviced at some point - and wouldn't buy a car off ebay without looking at it either.

Both need the prices knocking down too imho compared to a similar age fiesta or escort....

i was worried about that first car on ebay... i realise that any mods on that kinda car could mean a boy racer has been at it and thrashed the pants off it... but the second looks pretty standard.... i wont have it for long maybe jsut a few years....

i think what im most worried about is problems that i may not be able to recognise, like i can tell if the clutch is stiff obviously but there are sometimes little signs that there might be some expensive work coming ahead that i wont recognise....

its only a run around tho.... i will keep u updated thanks guys

You can't go far wrong with a little Corsa if all you want is to go from A to B.

I had a rover metro 1.4s, was cheap to run, never went wrong, cheap tax and really good on petrol.
Maybe have a look at a GTA one? My brother has one and its great fun to drive

weell i just rang my dad and hes says thats all good i just ahve to work out sums....

he says i need a kitty for if things go wrong... hehe and he asked me to have a look see how much it would be to have my mum and sister on it...

my sisters only got her provisional... and i dont know whether to tell him that its only gone up by £50 to put them both on??? :s i dont really want my sister learning in my car! i know it sounds selfish!! and also not sure if i want both my parents nipping to the shops in it cos they dont want to run teh bmw all the time....

but soo excited!!! hehe

also i found the same sri for £400 more that was from a dealer and had a sunroof... would be be safer buying it from them and maybe trying to knok teh price down??? the other is private

thank u!!

Don't look too bad babe, as you said it's a little run around.

The only thing that I would get checked out is about a year ago Vauxhall was calling all Corsa's back cause the inside wasn't all that safe. I suposse you could take it back to Vauxhall and have I checked out completly.

I don't know how you would cope with your Mum and Sister driving your car. I would throttle mine!!!

exactly!!!! and seeing as my sister has never been behind the wheel!! maybe when she has passed her test but i never had a car to learn in... the thought alone scares me...

wonder if i could take it for a test drive to a vauxhall garage have them do a quick once over and see if they see any major things that would need repairing in teh near future... i dont want to take it for mot and discover a catalogue of faults!
