Default Stud/Nut Conversion Sets........

I will soon be able to supply a conversion for RS Turbo's to take them from Bolt configuration to Stud/Nut. This makes it far easier when swapping wheels etc.

This consists of :-

16 Studs, which are slightly longer than normal which will allow for a Spacer if needed, but are fine without. These studs will require drilling of the original Bolt Holes to allow the new Studs to be pressed in.

16 Nuts. These are Chrome, Dome-topped Nuts, which have 19mm heads and are quite nice looking.

The cost will be about £29.99 inc VAT and Postage.

I can sustitute 4 of the Studs/Nuts with a set of Top Quality lockers for an extra £25. (£54.99 Total).

Would that be interesting to anyone??

It is the same conversion that I have on mine.

I can get simple conversion studs, which just screw into the original thread, leaving a stud, but I wouldn't recommend these for the sort of application that we are concerned with!!

Will be fine for no spacers. The nuts are deep enough to take it.

I need a few people interested so I can order a job lot.

13mm longer.........

I can do them longer still if needed. Alternatively, these studs can be cut down, but they won't need to be.

When we did mine, we removed the hubs completely and drilled them out and simply hammered the studs in. Was really quite easy.

Cheers christian , can u get me a set @ 25mm longer please , i can always cut them if needs be ,

another thought could you get a set of nuts that are straight through ie not domed .

Dunno who your supplier is but if u ask them for a GP a stud and nut kit im sure theyll give you what u need .

I'd be interested.

The head of the stud at the back of the hub, do you know what height it would be?
(hope that makes sence)
I have Traction sensors on mine and need to make sure they won't fail.

Thanks

Is that safe ?

Don't suppose you've got some piccys of your stud conversion ?

Will i be able to retain my current alloys ?

I'm very interested BTW

OK Guys. To do this conversion properly, you need to remove all the hubs, drill the original Bolt Holes out to allow the new studs to be a tight press fit (from the back of the hub). The shank of the Stud is splined. It can be done with the hubs on the car, but its not really worth it as its not hard to remove the hubs. The studs MUST be knocked fully in, otherwise your wheel tightening torques may be affected. In any case, they must be checked a couple of times after a few miles, as you normally would.

This conversion is the BEST way to do it. As I said above, I can do some other conversion studs that simply screw in, if anyone wants to do it the easy way, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm afraid I don't have any piccies, but it looks factory once its done properly.

As for the height of the head of the Stud, I dont have a stud handy, but I think its around 5-8mm.

The Studs are 13mm Longer than a Standard Ford Stud, this will be fine on a Standard Car, because the nuts are deep enough to take it. The studs can be supplied longer if needed or indeed cut down if you want them shorter.

Hope this helps.

For those that are interested, I will need to know exactly what you want so I can get it all ordered. So far, there is interest from :-

Have been thinking about this for a while and was going to make something up myself.

Well there is no point in reinventing the wheel so I will have a set if you can you get open nuts? I have a couple of sets of wheels which need different length studs...

16 studs
16 nuts
4 lockers..

Thank you please.

Daz, I can do this with many different kinds of nuts even COLOURED ONES!!, will post the alternatives tomorrow. Would rather stick mainly to the ones that I know, but I can sort you some Open nuts no worries.

Having said all that, the Nuts are fairly deep and won't be any more restrictive than the lockers, which are unavoidably closed head.

Lemme know what you think.

If you can get open nuts, i'll have a set of 16. This way, I can run one set of wheels without lockers and my other set of wheels with lockers. Just plain ordinary nuts is all I want. Wheels nuts are wheel nuts at the end of the day and don't need to be any thing fancy.

Just to clarify, for the above price, I can supply EITHER 60° Taper Chrome Closed-Head Nuts or 60° Taper Zinc-Plated Open-Head Nuts or 60° Taper Internal Hex Nuts. Same goes for Lockers. Standard ERST Wheels and most aftermarket wheels use a 60° Taper. If you are in any doubt, either tell me what Wheels you have or contact the supplier of them to check.

I can supply the 'Ghia' Type nuts that are used on some of the Ford Wheels (such as 7-Spokes), where they have a loose washer. But these are more expensive.

I will get these ordered early next week, so will need you all to cough up over the weekend, if thats OK.

Debit Card payment is favourite.

Cheque or Postal Orders would be fine. Not bothered which. They only one we don't like is Credit Card, because of the charges (around 3%). Shame about Electron, but we will get over it!!

Yes, to the address on the Website.

And make it payable to 'APT'.

Thanks.

Everyone else, the only thing stopping this is getting the payments sorted, so can you all send me an email to christianbeccy@hotmail.com with your Payment/Address details and a contact number and I will get it moving.
