Creating new cossie engine loom
I fear that my engine loom is getting a little bit tired so was thinking of creating my own new fresh loom
i saw a kit on fleebay with all the connectors and was just going to make one myself using electrical wire from a local shop, i was wondering if anyone has attempted this before and if its something worth doing?
does it have to be a certain ampage? im really not very clued up on electronics

be vary carfull, some of the wiring shielded to protect it from interference (think the crank and phase sensor wires and poss others) so you cannot just use any wire or you could have all sorts of problems

Seen a few people create their own looms online, one guy inparticular created a new loom for his 20 year old mercedes...
... then again i also come acrost a video on youtube of a cossie on fire, is it an OMEN? i hope not
had a mate create a loom for a supercharged vw jetta, might see how that goes first

If your not clued up on electrics its probably not something I would advise doing.
It needs to be right or you will end up with a very troublesome running engine.
I'd stick with what you have or give Ryan a call.

It's easy if you know what you are doing, like all things really.
Good advice above though don't diy unless totally confident, there 's only a few wires need shielding, this is due to proximity reasons to high voltages(ht leads).
The best wire to use is type 44, the guy I use has been doing these before most on here were born, and gives a lifetime warranty on all his looms, has made in all forms of motorsport inc F1 where Ferrari even x ray the connections!!
He;s made some very "radical" looms as well, he does mostly TVR, as the insulation is the favourite "treat" of mice who chew through it on a seriously regular basis on tvr cars.
And tvr's are the biggest pita to fit looms into!!
