I fear that my engine loom is getting a little bit tired so was thinking of creating my own new fresh loom

i saw a kit on fleebay with all the connectors and was just going to make one myself using electrical wire from a local shop, i was wondering if anyone has attempted this before and if its something worth doing?

does it have to be a certain ampage? im really not very clued up on electronics
