Question the Cossie's shit itself AGAIN

Recently been having a few problems with the car revving itself and running really lumpy until 10 minutes into the journey,
Was advised that it could possibly be the throttle position sensor so today round my brothers i replaced the whole throttle body and position sensor with a spare one he had (was exactly the same, red sensor on a 2wd throttle body)
Went to start the car and it turns over but doesnt start, took out one of the plugs and it initially sparks just once then nothing. also cant hear the fuel pump running but ill have to confirm this tomorrow
Is this a dodgy immobiliser problem? as my brother has had problems with it previously

where would i take the car to have the immobiliser removed?

you didnt nudge the crank sensor plug while you were working around the throttle area did you?

As danny says more likely to be a dodgy connection, probe for power at the ecu(from the relay) when you turn the iggy on, if there is a dodgy connection here that could/would stop the ecu/fuel pump/prime.
It's more likely to be something you've disturbed though in the engine bay, but make sure the basics are there first, main power control relay.
What alarm/immoby is it btw ?

it has an aftermarket clifford alarm and immobiliser but these seem to be working fine (before pushing in the little immobiliser thingy she doesnt even try to turn over but after plugging that in she does try to turn over which tells me that its working)

Does the car have a standard immobiliser? if it does, would this cut the fuel pump and spark?

Confirmed thismorning theres no fuel comming through and just one initial spark then nothing. Car turns over though
Waiting to hear from a mate today on how to bypass the original immobiliser

would a dodgy crank position sensor cut out the fuel pump or just the spark?

all fuses were good but i think ill switch round/replace the relays under the glove box (ford yellow top 40 amp)
can i borrow some from the fusebox under the bonnet so i can eliminate the relays as being the problem?

Failing that i may have to borrow a loom off my brothers mk1 escort, same engine and loom just that some wires are adapted for the escort so the map sensor will have to be moved

Mate just mark up the alarm cuts and then try and by pass them it should only be a matter of mins. i brought my cosworth off an old man with 3 fucked alarms bid him right down on the price and then sat there and took them all off and drove home Lol

A dodgy crank sensor would cause a loss of spark and fuel pump operation.

Are you getting power to both the engine ecu relay and fuel pump relay when the ignition is turned on.

just been down to the car and switched round the relays with no joy,
But while i was there i thought i may aswell unplug the crank position sensor then plug it back in ... Bloody thing fired up first time!

So the top prize goes to Botters/Danny im still unsure at this point if its the sensor wire or the loom itself
Got a new crank position sensor on its way!

Also the car was previously running crap but since changing the throttle position sensor the car doesnt rev up on its own anymore and runs super smooth, ive got one stupid great grin on my face.

Cheers guys, cant thank you enough for all your help!
