The very best is the Clifford AVANTGUARD but is NOT CAT1

Im not sure if you can add those features youve listed onto the 600 which is CAT1

Instalation is included in the price if you bought it from a Clifford agent Dave!
I'm guessing you didn't hence the question though?

Dave the alarm on my new car is an AvantGaurd with the remote start
When i tried it it would start the car for about a second and then it would cut out as if the fuel pump wasn't working! Well....i've just read the hand book and it says there in the 1st page that if this alarm is fitted to a vehicle with manual transmision the artificial inteligence of the system will detect this and render the system inoperative!! I'm guessing this is why mine doesn't work and i hope yours being a new version can't onlty be fitted to an automatic

Dave don't even fookin bother with a Clifford Had nowt but trouble

Get a toad alarm! has all the stuff u want on it...might be worth gettting a price from somewhere.

Also.....I don't u you can get a CAT 1 offical Certificate of alarm installation if u install it yourself...might be wrong though.....

Dave,

I have a Clifford Intelligaurd 950 on my car, has all of what you asked for and more, including Black Jaxx. It wasn't cheap but it has all the toys and has never played up in the time I have had it. The car has sat on my drive now for about 4 weeks and I haven't heard anything from it except when someone got too close.

The guy that fitted the alarm is the nuts, I have his number if you want it, Email me or something cos I am not here alot anymore. I am sure he would fit it, and I trust him, and even more so, Damo does.

http://www.caralarmuk.com/acatalog/Car_Alarms.html

See here for an idea ^^^

Spadge - I have remote start, and it works fine. There are settings you can change with the Net Wizard so it can work on a manual car.

Smit - Correct, you can't issue yourself a CAT1 Certificate unless your are a proper fitter, But Dave hasn't got a CAT1 Alarm...

i had the concept 600 on my evo, i had the intellistart fitted.

the avantguard is the concept 600 with the intellistart and smartwindws all included, its just cheaper to buy it in 1 go than in bits, but as you say the reason it isnt cat 1 aprooved is that it was never resubmitted with the intrellistart which will be the issue i suspect.

I've got a Clifford Concept 600 on my saff with remote start abd im really happy with it.

It had a few early problems coz i had it when it first came out but has been 100% ok for about 3 years now. I've heard lots of storys about Clifford alarms but at the end of the day it all depends on how they are installed.

I would consider getting another one

Dave as above, you will have MAJOR issues getting insurance without a CAT 1 system...

As per Tony, his fitter was spot on, I gave him a few headaches with Tony's install, being extremely particular as to how I wanted it and he just took it in his stride.... though I was standing over him ALL the time pmsl or lending a hand. He will do private and it will be in your best intersts if you take the dash out beforehend, provided there is space behind to fit

I tell you now you will have alot of grief trying to fit that system on your own, having never done one before....

There are literally hundreds of wires and after all as with any security device, installation is the key.

If you are worried about say for example a fitter coming back and taking car or telling someone else about it, Why dont you do what Tony did and get it fitted at a friend or relatives house, they have no need for your actual address unless you pay by card over the phone... My address never went on my CAT certificate just the car details LOL I dont even have my home address on my log book pmsl

Tonys install took an easy 2 days, thats without stripping or refitting...

An alarms best feature is how well its fitted as Damo says. IE Dash removed and wires connected into loom there so no access can be gained without removing dash again. etc etc. A proper install isnt done mobile....

Toad Ai 606 Thatcham Cat. I Car Alarm & Pager Package
Comes with a pager that will alert you if the alarm has been activated. Pager range is 500m (MAX)

INCLUDES INSTALLATION AT YOUR HOME OR PLACE OF WORK

is it really worth the extra 60 pound for the pager, are they useful. or should i just get the alarm with out the pager and pay the extra for total closure????

i really need to update the alarm on me car so this seems like a solution to that problem.

cheers

matt

500m isnt really worth 60 quid imo. Not right far is it?
