Dave as above, you will have MAJOR issues getting insurance without a CAT 1 system...
As per Tony, his fitter was spot on, I gave him a few headaches with Tony's install, being extremely particular as to how I wanted it and he just took it in his stride.... though I was standing over him ALL the time pmsl or lending a hand. He will do private and it will be in your best intersts if you take the dash out beforehend, provided there is space behind to fit
I tell you now you will have alot of grief trying to fit that system on your own, having never done one before....
There are literally hundreds of wires and after all as with any security device, installation is the key.
If you are worried about say for example a fitter coming back and taking car or telling someone else about it, Why dont you do what Tony did and get it fitted at a friend or relatives house, they have no need for your actual address unless you pay by card over the phone... My address never went on my CAT certificate just the car details

Tonys install took an easy 2 days, thats without stripping or refitting...
