Cossie 4x4 brake questions!!!!

Default Cossie 4x4 brake questions!!!!

Ok,I'm getting somewhere with my 4x4 now but the car hasn't moved properly for touching 3 years now and the brakes are shot.

The drivers rear caliper had seized solid so I've removed that to drive the car,my question is is there a rebuild kit available or is it best to replace?I'm looking about £80 per caliper on the bay.

Front disc wise,whats a decent budget upgrade?I've found drilled and grooved discs on eBay all round for £130 which seems cheap to me,but are they any good?also,pads wise I'm not sure either,it won't be going on the track but I'd like to give it a good tuning now and again so maybe fast road?

I used to make the frs brakes where I used to work but I wasn't into fords much then() so never grabbed a set but from memory they were 300mm big bastard things grooved from the factory,will these go on or is the price likely to be exorbitant?

I've had a little look in the for sale section on here but it's only really competition/expensive stuff for sale.

I've always fancied the aeroquip style brake hoses but again,not sure on price or how much advantage I get from them.

Braided lines make a big difference on any car, taking a lot of the spongyness out of the brake pedal as the pipes don't expand like the std rubber ones.
FRS had 324mm discs and is a popular conversion on cossie with the calipers and brackets to suit, or you can get brackets to use the 2wd 4 pot std calipers with the frs discs.
Defo worth getting grooved discs, these will wear the pads ever so slightly quicker but well worth the improvement as they constantly de glaze the pads ensuring a perfect surface.
Pad wise a very personal thing I like EBC yellowstuff, perfect from old grannies to track cars, the same pads most of the police pursuit cars use btw, a very clean pad too with no noise don't take warming up either, and have ace feeling.
Disc size dependant mostly on wheel size, but even std 2wd 4 pots are a big improvement over the 4wd calipers.

Thanks mate,always guarantee a good answer from you!!yeah,I could never understand the swap from 4 pots,these seem readily available right now!!

So yellows sound good to me too,think their about £80 a set on the bay?

Frs discs sound a good upgrade,I'm on 17" wheels so I should be ok I think?

Any ideas if they do a refurb kit?I've seen one on eBay for an escos rear caliper but I'm not sure if it's the same as the saph,I know most bits are
interchangeable but I'm getting mixed messages on the rears.
