Default Sapphire lock set fitted a 3dr, petrol cap???

Is there a barrel in the Ford range that fits into a 3dr petrol cap that uses the Sapphire type key? Escos looked promising but is a larger diameter, any other ideas?

Mk 4 xr3i uses the later type key martin. Id be tempted to get a fuel cap and even see if the whole thing fits a sierra. they look pretty similar from my memory of my old 3i and im stood looking at my 3 door cossie now

you need to get the barrel out first martin, depending on how it comes out you should be able to get another one to fit it

the sierra "should" have a circlip at the bottom and the lock "should" pop out and then you can compare the barrels with the later cars

I already checked that one out, the chrome part the key passes through is a bigger diameter. I could probably do with a spare 3dr petrol cap to see of I can bore it out.

I'd like to know the answer to this too - I have a late Tibbe ignition key and an early flat fuel cap key.
