Default Broken Iphone Screen

Anybody used an online company to get there screen changed? My phone is not insured so have to pay somebody to fix it.

Dont really want to use the usual guy in a market as last time with my N95 it taken a month and a bit.

Thanks

Tim

my mate at work dropped and broke his screen, bought screen, and tools on ebay for around a tenner, done it himself, never done anything like it before but thought for a tenner its worth a go, his phone now works perfect with a new screen....simples...got to be worth an attempt for a tenner

For £130 take it to an Apple store and they will change either the screen for you while you wait, OR, they will give you an entirely new phone - your choice. |It's done under their "Out of Warrenty Repair"

For £130 quid, I'd want an upgrade to an iPhone 4.

My dad fixed mine this week as me and someone I know was fighting over facebook raping me and she put it between her legs to stop me getting it and I pulled her leg up and she somehow stood all her weight on it. Screen and digitizer, fucked.

The screen wasn't too hard, but the digitizer was something else. Had to slice it off with a blade and then using the sticky tape they give you, reattactch it in the right place. The scren was a rep' and has a blue tint on it, but it works. My dad is very hand though and found it easy, but I'm sure you could do it.

Althought I bought a 3G digitezer, and my touch screen was off as in if I wanted to click messages, I'd have to click the app' next to it. I told my dad he was a mong and all that, and then realised what I'd done. Bought another and he sorted it. So make sure you get 3G or 3GS parts, as they aren't the same.

Give it a go I say.

if its a 2g iphone forget it as the screen and digitizer are bonded together i found out the hard way

on the 3g its a piece of piss to change

order the bits from ebay rather than paying apple prices - much cheaper and as long as it all works - job done

Mate do it yourself if its 3g... replacing anything in the iphone is a piece of piss.

Seriously, its simple. All you need is a small screwdriver, a suction thing to lift the screen and a hairdryer to unstick the digitiser.

Get yourself on Amazon and buy the bits dirt cheap.. seriously dont pay someone

Random question... Mate lost his iPhone at work, got a replacement, then the old one turned up a few weeks later a bit battered with the screen in bits.

I'm guessing they block the IMEI of the old phone and send out a replacement... Any idea if he took the old one to an Apple shop after getting a Genius appointment whether he could pay the out of warranty charge and get a new phone that works (If the old one was IMEI blocked?).

My sister smashed hers, she bought a new copy screen of ebay for about £10, came with instructions etc. She wanted me to to do it as she really hasnt a clue about these things, I kept putting it off as I thought it would be hard, in the end she got fed up waiting and did it her self, works fine!
If I was you mate id do it myself, fuck paying £130, or even £45-60!
