Default Damn thing won't start!! **Now works as of 04/10/10**

Right lets see if the collective genuis of PF can get my 3 Door started.
In May I blew the engine up at Brunters got it AA towed home drove it off the back of the recovery truck on 3 cylinders into the garage.

Had the engine rebuilt and new Ryan loom made up (the only things that are new to the car)

Put the whole lot back together now it won't start.
No Spark and sometimes the injectors don't fire either (noid tested)
When you turn the key the coil fires all plugs once then nothing.

These are the parts I have changed:
Coil Amps (Both)
Coil (tried 2 different ones)
WRC Cam Sensor (3 different ones)
2 Phase Sensors (tired putting the old dizzy back in and then another one to make sure)
HT Leads
Crank Sensor
Map Sensor (just cuz I had a spare one)
Loom
ECU

Also put my old loom back on to check Ryans but it still wont start i've cleaned up all the earthing points and even added extra earths direct to the battery.

And to really make it wierd it did start for about 30 seconds when we think the dizzy was timed up incorrectly haven't been about to reproduce that thou

Is fuel getting in there? are the plugs shot??

When mine had a firing issue i checked every sensor, timing, fuel in, 3 set's of plugs, coil pack and it turned out to be the diaphragm in the FPR was shagged and fuel was flooding the engine - new rail, clean out and a set of fresh plugs and it started.

Some points people were advising me were - are any of the wires from the loom touching the body where it goes through the bulkhead.

The FPR is a brand new Aeromotive one fitted about 200 miles before I blew it up.

I rewrapped the the whole car loom before the engine went back in so i'm pretty sure nothing is rubbing plus the engine loom is brand new.

It's seriouly doing my head in now.

Ye no fuel or sparking in the wrong order would point to a dodgy phase sensor but i've change it twice on the wrc cam trigger sensor and twice on the dizzy phase sensor.

i had the exact same thing in my 3dr, tried everything you have...turned out to be the ecu, which was strange as it was not even touched when i rebuilt the engine.. the ecu would run other cars, but not the one it came out of, told a few people this and nobody had an explanation.bought a L6 and it fired up first flick of the key..worth a try with someone elses ecu...

And what was causing all the problems?
It was the Crank Pulley (after market alloy one)
Don't ask me why it worked on my old engine and not on this one all I care is that it's working now.
Thanks to Martin @ Reyland (for all your diagnostic needs)

Might be that the leading edges on the 4 picks aren't that great, put a standard crank pulley on and it ran fine.
