Default Removing MK6 Escort Steering Wheel

As title can anyone advise me on removing the wheel before i have a go

need to disconnect the battery for an hour or so so the airbag doesnt go off,

there are 2 screws in the rear of the steering wheel which will allow you to remove the cover then the airbag. you will then be able to remove the steering wheel

Is leaving the battery off for an hour a must or will disconecting it be enough ?

needs to be left of for about an hour as the airbag could still go off if you just disconnect then mess about with the bag straight away

disconnect battery remove two screws out of back of steering wheel remove front panel and remove nut that attachs steering wheel!i dont know about leaving battery disconnected for a hour could be right but i never have probably worth checking that though as u dont want it going off

Refitting is the same as removal, but you can make sure that the air bag is suitable for the new bike because it is spoken of three four versions spoke. Also take precautions to straighten extreme wrapped connector. This is what gives the bag to remain connected to the wheel turned left and right. To get this thread could be dangerous Short airbag off while driving.

Hi Guys, need sum help. my girl friend as a ford fiesta mk6 zetec, and trying to get the steering wheel off, there are two spring clips at the back where you have to put in a screw driver tried everything and is a nightmare, there must be a knack to this, i have disconnected the battery. any help. Ian
