Default fitting a type 9 in a mk1 escort

alright guys i know this is a old one but i am wanting to change my 4 speed mk1 escort to a 5 speed, so what is involved and what parts do i need to change apart from the actual box, i do know i will need to cut another hole for the gear lever thanks

give gs escorts a call,they will sell you a kit,cant remember it all but,clutch plate,adaptor blocks as it sits a bit further back,not sure if the prop fits,pays to do it right otherwise if it sits wrong it will vibrate the shit out of you.

Tunnel need to have the gear lever hole moving back about 1 1/2" to 2". It is possible to get some adapter blocks that allow the gearbox mount to be moved back, but there is not much room in the tunnel and the box normaly hits the side where the gearbox mount is welded to the tunnel.

I did mine by undrilling the mounts and moving them back then rewelding in the right place for the 5 speed. Also the tunnel needed to be widened a bit where the box will touch the tunnel. scissor jack sorted that.
