It'd be easier to use a cossy v6 boa/bob - engine mounts/subframes already exist, it's already design for RWD, and has better output and economy.

surely you can find a granada cosworth??
but that would be a better option, problem with the duratec is its mounts are for FWD and a sierra is as im sure u know Rwd, so u would need to make weird engine mounts and a custom bellhousing.
built a pinto turbo, or import a BOA/YB cosworth motor

Duratec 2.5 V6 engines are pretty bulletproof. aslong as you keep the oil filled up to max, or just over, as they do like to spin shells at high revs, when cornering and the oil isnt full. also they have been known to pop headgaskets, and the plastic impellar water pump on the earlier engines was known to fail, not so much a problem on the later engines. bar that, they go on forever

have you got any idea of the shipment cost of a cylinder head, because, it may be an option, to get a 2.0 from a taunus and try to build a cosworth.
Any cosworth at all are impossible to get around here (v6 or 4 cyl)
Thanks a lot averyone for your help..

The ST220 Duratec engine is half of the Aston Martin V12. They are identical in design apart from one is twice as long! Bit of useless info for you!

get one from a mk3 mondeo, the old mk1 and mk2 mondeo 2.5 v6's weren't that good tbh. fairly low power for a very heavy engine, very few aftermarket performance parts available, dodgy water pumps, head gaskets and bottom end.

barge and pole springs to mind!

i've been on the mondeo forums for 8 years and seen literally hundreds of threads about them knacking up.

a top end rebuild done DIY costs over Ł800 with all the right bits, a guy on our forum done one recently.

"bulletproof" pmsl!

mine wasn't bullet proof in my st200, the timing chain tensioners failed and grenaded the engine

The T5 is a fantastic engine - get an actual volvo one, rather than the mondy-spec version and it's cheap too!

It’s a very old thread
A few people are fitting them to things now. There are a few in kitcars. More usually the jag version the Aj30 as they are very cheap and easier to find over here.
The Rx8 gearbox being the go to gearbox.
One guy has a Duratec30 in a metro and is running 500bhp.
