fitting new cam question

fitting new cam question
just had my head recon , ive bought a new cam a lifters from my local motor factors , when i have come to fit it the cam pully, the new camshaft doesent have a notch that sticks out that you slide the pulley onto , it has a notch goin inwards , have i been given the wrong cam or is there 2 different types or what ? cheers

Thats where the woodruff key fits, you prise it out of your old cam with a flat blade screwdriver and tap it into your new one with a little hammer.

haha i thought this but dumbass me has gone and thrown the old cam away , can you buy these on ther own ?
