Just bought an original airbox off some tosser on ebay who decided not to sell it with the rubber seal am i right in thinking this is an integral part of the airbox??? and is completly useless without it?? The seller says it was part of the metering head which i am 99.9% certain it wasn't. your thoughts please

What a complete arsehole this bloke is, he says it wasn't mentioned in the listing but as it is part of the airbox it should automatically come with it am sick of rip off merchants on there the airbox is completly useless to me now. Dont suppose you can still get them from ford do you m8??
milesy, relax there for a minute, take a deep breathe and chill................
Ok,here is how you will get around youre small problem.Fit the lower part of the airbox to the metering head. Then neatly apply a tidy seam of bathroom sealent between the filter housing and the metering head, and leave to dry, this will take 1 hour approx. This will stop unfiltered air being drawn in.Put in filter element, put on lid and away you go.Easy and cheap. All the best,Micky

could you not run a bead of silicone around the metering head? failing that i'm sure motorfactors sell generic O rings mate. it shouldn't be more than a pound really.
*edit* micky beat me to it!

Already have m8 and left the tosser bad feedback purely because he is being awkward and a twat and knowing full well that it should have been sold with the rubber seal, anyways thanks everyone for all your reply's am going to try what micky and orionmojo have said and see what happens.
