Default Just fitted 500 i/cooler but hose now in the way of airbox.

The hose from the turbo to the intercooler is obstructing the airbox now I have fitted a 500 i/cooler on my 3dr cossie, can't fit the airbox without chopping a big hole out of the side of the airbox, I know a friend of mine had the same problem on his saff. Can anyone tell me if a RS500 airbox is shaped differently where this hose runs. Has anyone else had this problem. Any replies appriciated.

Cheers Simon.

I know a lot of people like cone filters but I personally would prefer to keep the standard air box if I can,Just prefer the look of it in the engine bay, I know what your all gonna think but I prefer the standard airbox with K&N panel filter ok.

Thanks for the replies, all sorted now, have had to cut small part away on the side/bottom part so that hose doesn't touch. Only thing I have noticed is that with a 500 i/cooler fiitted you can't fit the original airbox trunking part that used to pick up cold air from the front grille area.

if u havnt got a feed for the air to enter u will only be pulling air in from the small hole this is going to decrease ur airflow.

Yeh I know mate, so I'm going to get some flexible ducting & route it from the bottom of the airbox to the front bumper somewhere.

could you not just have rotated the compressor housing on the turbo, changing the position of the hose from the turbo to intercooler?
