Default Back pain - the worst kind?

Back is killing, really aching in the mid section. Going to go to the Doctors at 9 but got a feeling they'll turn me away because I'm not registered. Any advice for dealing with back pain? I've had two anadin and frankly they've done fuck all.

doctor won't do fuck all either, anadin will only work after u have takin them for a day thats when i find they start to kick in, laying on a hard floor helps, depending on what u have done, cold peas or heat pack, how did u do it? chiropractor is your best bet if it's really bad

As DMR says, lay on the floor with a stool under your legs so they are 90degree's, helps alot.

Touch wood it been ok lately flares up now and then

Always been a beleiver in working through the pain if its muscular

Well that's what's the wife advises (being a nurse I do take her advice)

Did go to a specialist but didn't help me much.!!

As already said, go to a chiroprator doctors will do nothing for back pain I see one whenever I get a issue with my back and he sorts it every time. One of my colleagues at wok has been in a right state for 6 years with back pain to the point he can't work most of the time. He has been going to the doctors the whole time and just given pain killers that ruin him. He came back to work 3 weeks ago after 5 weeks off due to his back and he could hardly stand up his vision was affected so I had to send him back home and for about the tenth time with the number for my chiropractor this time he went and after 6 sessions he's back at work almost like a new man and on no painkillers

What about Ibuprofen combined with Paracetamol. Worked for me last week... worst back pain I've ever had!

Does it feel like it's something trapped in between your shoulder blades in the middle... like a bit of muscle or something? That's what mine was like. Sometimes get it if I lie in bed too long, but got it bad last week and it ended up staying for days!

On another note, how is the gym going? A massage might help...

As others said, doctor cant do anything very much. I went to see a chiropractor and after a 5 weeks session, I'm sorted now.

Well worth it.

A muscle relaxent like ibuprofen would be much better than painkillers, just continue to use don't rest it, but obviously don't go mental.
It could be reffered pain, or a muscle spasm, caused by a tiny tear in tissue from over exercising bending bad etc.
I take morphin based opiates 4 times a day every day, for the rest of my life due to muscle spasm pain.
If I were to recommend anyone it would be Marcus Webb, of Hadley Wood Health Centre, Barnet, Herts.
That's who I see when needed, as his father in law is Jan De Vries, very eminent Dutch spinal surgeon, also have Harley street practices from same person but price is +500%!!

Interseting to know as local to me, but out of my wallets reach
I've been using The College of Osteopaths at Borehamwood as I'm a tight wad (have to go regular) and you get great treatment with all the students input Like being on Greys Anatomy

sciatica is very very bad news, i have it, iv stopped my weight training because of it. At worst i was litteraly immobilised and had to stay layed down. Usually lasts a few days in a row. Ibuprofen is good but in my experiance, exercise is the key.
