ant veedub experts in?
my shagged out 1.6 petrol cl r reg golf keeps stalling when i pull up to junctions etc, just cuts out,its done this before and i found a air pipe up to the airbox kinked, straitened that and it stopped doing it.
yesterday it started missing badly and stalling again,i changed the plugs today and that sorted the miss fire but the stalling problem stayed, and the air pipe that caused it before is ok aswell, but just driving home now it was ok,not stalling but ticking iver at 600rpm,it sometimes ticks over at a 1000rpm which is normal, anyone any idea whats up with it?

edit,my mates gti does the same thing from cold but when that warms up its ok,mine does it whether the engine warm or cold.

were do i start lol
make sure you have no broken vac pipes, all so check the servo pipe
follow it from the servo to the inlet, were it joints on the inlet there should be a bit of rubber pipe about inch long, make sure it it hasnt collapsed or has split
next
all so make sure the rubber mount for the single point(carb)has not split
start the engine and with it running glab the top of the carb and move it about and see if it cuts out
failing that, carb cleaner and clean the throttle body out
hope that helps
