Hi gaz; i've got a petrol car which i bought 2 years ago with the intention of doing something with but never got round to it. i know it needs a few things doing but i have got a manual for it still
i know the engine runs as i've managed to get that working
its at my mums, so next time i go round there i'll get it out the loft, i have no idea what its worth tho - if you havent sorted anything by then i'll give you a buzz

If its for somebody that has never used a nitro one before then it all reality i'd be getting them a battery one
Nitro is such a pain in the ass to tune and keep tuned if you dont know what your doing
Anything 2wd and fast in nitro will be a pain to control on tarmac as it will be spinning the wheels most of the time so good throtle control will be needed
Some nitro's dont have reverse either so if your facing a kerb 100yards away you got to run over there and move it
ok you get longer run times but if you start messing with it you'll end up putting it in a cupboard and leaving it there
All points to think about
Your better off with a battery operated one as there so easy to maintain and uprate
also 7.2v batteries on ebay are so cheap now that you can carry loads round with you so plenty of run time , putting a faster motor in will shorten your run time but will give better smiles
Fast chargers are also cheap enough off ebay so if you got plenty of batteries you'll never be without one thats charged
I would think you can get a battery one off ebay or out the ad-mag for anything from £30 - £85 and a nitro would start at about £100
Choose wisely lol

I've had nitro and lecky, personally I'd have lecky 99% of the time as can use it anywhere, even in the house, though me lecky rc copters got me a few good slaps off gf for marks on the table legs, I said it was "collateral damage", she said "so's this" and smnakcked me on the head with a frying pan she was drying!!
Lecky is just so much less fuss, good leckys can be awsome fast, swap the NICD for some NIMH, I used a 6 cell holder and 6 AA nimh, about 1/4 the weight anmd twice the ah than ni cd packs!!
