You can get brand new ready to run kits pretty damn cheap now mate, though to be honest they're a bit much for a 4 year old lol, and being serious i really wouldn't want a 4 year old to get hit by one as they're bloody hefty! Have a look on ebay and see if there's any unwanted presents, you could try looking for a 'hobao hyper 7' as these are a good entry level buggy and spares are easy to come by too. I don't know how much you know about them but they aren't really plug and play toys that don't need any maintenence/adjustments etc but you soon get uses to it. Hth
